CLOCKS (IMAGES)

Image Based

  1. Mirror image Based : The image of an object when seen in a mirror is called its mirror reflection or mirror image.

  • Right side of the clock shows as mirror reflection left side of clock and vice-versa.

   Case 1 : If there is a time between 00:01 to 11:59;

   Method : Subtract from 11:60

   Case 2 :  If there is a time between 12:01 to 23:59;

   Method : Subtract from 23:60

Case 3 : To find out exact time as hour

   Method : Subtract from 12

FOOD FOR THOUGHT : AM and PM has no effect on the calculation of the Question.

Examples :

Q 1 . What is the mirror image of 8 O'clock ?

  1. 5 O'clock

  2. 4  O'clock

  3. 4: 01

  4. 4 : 59

Sol : Mirror image of 4 O'clock = 12 - 8 = 4 O'clock

Q 2. What is the mirror image of  18 O'clock ?

  1. 5 O'clock

  2. 4 O'clock

  3. 6 O'clock

  4. 7 O'clock

Sol : Mirror image of 18 O'clock=
24 - 18 = 6 O'clock [ Here,  18 O'clock = 6 O'clock ]

Q 3. What is the mirror image of  14 : 00 ?

  1.  9 : 00

  2. 10 : 00

  3. 11 : 00

  4.  2 : 00

Sol: Mirror image of 14 : 00 = 23 : 60 - 14 : 00 = 09 : 60 = 10 : 00

Q. 4. What is the mirror image for 8:20 ?

  1. 4:40

  2. 3:40

  3. 5: 40

  4. None of these

Sol :  Mirror image of 8:20 = 11:60 - 8:20 = 3:40

Note : Usually aspirants make the mistake by marking the answer 4:40 by using their imagination which will lead to make the answer incorrect.

TIPS FOR  THE TOPIC : Never use imagination while solving these. Always go by formula. This trick is limitless and applicable to all type of questions.

Q 5. What is the mirror image for 11:55 ?

  1. 01:05

  2. 00:55

  3. 00:05

  4. 01:00

Sol : Mirror Image of 11:55 = 11:60 - 11:55 = 00:05

Q. 6. What is the mirror image for 20:15 ?

  1. 03 : 34

  2. 04 : 45

  3. 03 : 45

  4. 04 : 15

Sol : Mirror Image for 20 : 15 = 23 : 60 - 20 : 45 = 03 : 15

Q 7. What is the mirror image of 10 : 20 ?

  1. 14 : 40

  2. 02 : 20

  3. 01 : 40

  4. 02 : 40

Sol : Mirror image of 10 : 20 = 11 : 60 - 10 : 20 = 01 : 40

Q. 8. What is the mirror image for  3:25   5/7 ?

  1. 7: 34 3/7

  2. 8 : 34 2/7

  3. 7 : 43 3/7

  4. 8 : 43 2/7

Sol : Mirror Image for 3  : 25  5/7 =

             11 : 60            = 11 : 59 + 1  =      11 : 59  + 7/7

           -  03 : 25  5/7                         =     -  3 : 25  + 5/7

                                                        =         8 : 34  + 2/7

Q 9.  What is the mirror image for  10 :23 2/3 ?

a. 01: 36 1/3

b. 01 : 24 2/3

c. 01 : 23 1/3

d. 01 : 33 1/3

Sol : Mirror Image for 10  : 23  2/3 =

             11 : 60            = 11 : 59 + 1  =      11 : 59  + 3/3

           -  10 : 23  2/3                         =     -  10 : 23  + 2/3

                                                        =         01 : 36  + ⅓

Q.10. What is the mirror image for 7:46 : 4/11?

  1. 4: 1 : 34/11

  2. 5: 4 : 31/11

  3. 4 : 13 : 7/11

  4. 5 : 13 : 7/11

Sol: Mirror image for 7 : 46 : 4/11  or 7: 510/11 = 11:60 - 7:510/11 = 4 : 150/11 = 4:13 : 7/11.

2. Water image Based : Water image is just a reflection where the top and bottom part of the images changed where the left and right side of the image remain the same.

  • In water images, the image that forms is not too perfect as a mirror image

Rules to solve :  Subtract the value of  time from 18 : 30 , either the answer is deducted value

or 1 hour less than that.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT : AM and PM has no effect on the calculation of the Question.

EXAMPLE :

Q 1. What is the water image of 8 : 20 ?

  1. 10 : 30

  2. 10 : 20

  3. 10 : 10

  4. 09 : 10

Sol : Water image of 8 : 20 = 18 : 30 - 8 : 20 = 10 : 10.

TIPS FOR THE TOPIC : Either the answer is 10 : 10 or 09 : 10. Sometimes in options, the option which

is provided, is actually not the deducted value. Therefore, in that case the

answer with value which is 1 hour less deems fit.

Q 2. What is the water image of 1 : 30 ?

  1. 04 : 00

  2. 14 : 00

  3. 04 : 30

  4. 05 : 30

Sol : Water image of 1 : 30 = 18 : 30 - 1 : 30 = 17 : 00 = 5 : 00

But, 5 : 00 is not given in the options. Hence, the correct answer would be

1 hour less than the value calculated i.e. 04 : 00.

Q 3. What is the water image of 01 : 50 ?

  1. 04 : 40

  2. 03 : 40

  3. 04 : 50

  4. None of these

Sol : Water image of 01 : 50 = 18 : 30 - 01 : 50  = 16 : 40 = 04 : 40

[HINT : 18 : 30 = 17 : 90]

Q 4. What is the water image for 06 : 30 ?

  1. 12 : 30

  2. 11 : 30

  3. 11 : 00

  4. 12 : 00

Sol : Water image of 06 : 30 = 18 : 30 - 06 : 30 = 12 : 00

Q 5. What is the water image of 20 : 42 ?

  1. 08 : 48

  2. 07 : 42

  3. 08 : 32

  4. 02 : 12

Sol : Water image of 20 : 42 = 17 : 90 - 08 : 42 = 09 : 48

[ Hint: 20 : 42 = 12 : 00 + 08 : 42]

Q 6. What is the water image of 5 : 00 ?

  1. 02 : 00

  2. 01 : 00

  3. 01: 30

  4. 02 : 30

Sol : Water image of 05 : 00 = 18 : 30 - 05 : 00 = 13 : 30  = 01 : 30

Q 7. What is the water image of 3 : 20 ?

OR, How does the water image of 3 : 20 is 3 : 10 ?

  1. 02 : 10

  2. 03 : 10

  3. 01: 30

  4. 02 : 30

Sol : Water image of 03 : 20 = 18 : 30 - 03 : 20 = 15 : 10  = 03 : 10

Number System (No. of Zeros)

How to Find Number of Trailing     Zeros in a Factorial or Product Under the topic of Number of Zeros , it is expected to find out the number of trailing zeros at the end of the number. In simple words, it can be said that to calculate the No. of Zeros at the  right side of the number. To make the things more clear, let us take a simple example to understand the concept of Number of Zeros Example : 1234057000 → No. of Trailing zeros →  3                  1050500000 → No. of Trailing zeros → 5                  1.5 x 10⁵ → No. of Trailing zeros → 4 Such Zeros that are represented at the end of the numbers are actually the Trailing Zeros. Now the next thing arises about the formation of Zeros in the Numbers. So, the fundamental regarding the formation of a Zero is the presence of a Pair of ...
